If you have a “Sat-Nav” entering the post code TN31 7RJ will get you to the centre of Camber.

By Car

The nearest motorway or duel carriageway to Camber is over 20 miles from any direction (around 35 minute drive Hastings, Ashford, Flimwell and Folkestone), so with that in mind please allow plenty of time and be patient. In the summer, on a particularly sunny weekend, expect some queuing as long queues build up as cars wait to enter the main car parks close to the beach.

Car Parks

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Taxis are available from the near-by historical town of Rye and are located outside the main railways station. From Rye most journeys go to Camber Sands Beach Camber Sands Holiday Parks, Park Resorts and Pontins. Camber is served by Stagecoach service route 100. If you are travelling from Rye then (in general) they leave every hour (Mon-Sat) and every other hour (what a bore!) on Sundays. The route in the main is part of the coastal service that runs from Dover through to Hastings and all points in between.  Use the attached link and download the latest PDF on all the bus timings.

Lydd Airport

Lydd airport approx 7 miles to the west of Camber. In its day it was one of the busiest airports in the UK. There is plenty of free and inexpensive short term parking, a good restaurant and bar. Lydd Airport caters for a wide range of aircraft operations, from executive jets, helicopters and private light aircraft which can be seen most weekends landing and taking off either as training flights or for a quick hop across the Channel to seaside towns such as Le Touquet on the French coast.

Trains

The nearest train station is Rye. Rye (via the marsh link) connects to Ashford in Kent and Hastings in East Sussex. These trains in general only run one per hour and at weekends there is a limited service. For more information and timings click here
