The Fig in Rye

The Fig Rye.jpg

The Fig is an independent cafe serving fresh, healthy food and locally roasted coffee in a relaxed, contemporary environment. They believe in supporting local suppliers and using the highest quality ingredients. The cafe is open plan so your coffee and food is prepared right in front of you, to order. This place is good for vegetarian and vegan diets.

The Fig is one of our most visited places in Rye, we normally come for for brunch and the Monmouth coffee served here is defiantly the best in town. It’s hard to pick a fav from the menu, but here we go. I’ll have the Mexican Eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and a flat white, maybe two. So good.

Luna (age 4) will have the fresh cacao and almond milk, which she thinks is amazing chocolate milk and the amazing staff normally make her a toasted English muffin with ham hock. We’ll get her to have the poached egg and hollandaise to go with it one day.

Gigi has ordered the Peruvian corn cake. Salsa. Poached eggs. Black beans.Sour cream. Pickled shallot. I’m eying this up, but also have an eye on the French toast. Bananas. Salted caramel. Pecans. Crème fraiche. We will roll out of here.
